PARTNERSHIP

GET BETTER ACADEMY AND USTUDY SPORTS

On the 15th of September 2023, Get Better Academy in the Czech Republic (GBA) and UStudy Education Consultancy in the Netherlands (UStudy) entered a unique partnership. UStudy is an international consultancy with its main office in the Netherlands.

To increase the chances of all GBA players to further their basketball development in the United States, GBA will provide all of it players about information  UStudy’s services.   This partnership was established for additional academic service complementing what GBA already offers its players in terms of basketball development. This collaboration means that GBA players can make use of UStudy’s knowledge and expertise regarding study and basketball opportunities at the American college level, their many years of experience balancing academics when placing players in the US, and their network of coaches overseas. Experience has proven that there is a suitable place for every level of player in the US.

Any player who is interested in knowing his college options in the US may wish to enroll in the “Go USA Get Recruited Program” and GBA will provide video material, stats and recommendation letter to UStudy. The player will then receive a list of coaches in the US who would like to get in touch with him to discuss a potential spot on their team. The Academy will provide its own basketball advice and vision to the player for the most appropriate options. If the player wishes, UStudy can also support with the next steps – helping with the college application process in the US, resume and essay writing, test preparation, etc.

This unique collaboration is in line with GBA’s own development in the further professionalization of youth players and supporting them in on their way to US college basketball. By engaging with UStudy, the Academy can provide players and parents with expert information about the many basketball and academic opportunities in the US, funding options, NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA eligibility, etc. Through its UStudy Academy it also offers accredited NCAA online high school courses that can boost their GPA or academic eligibility.

GBA Head Coach and Executive Director Julian Betko is very pleased with the collaboration: “We can now offer all our players an extra academic component, which increases their US possibilities through our Academy. UStudy has been successful in advising and placing youth players in the US for over 18 years and with their vast knowledge, experience, and network in the US we can serve all our players better.” UStudy will offer an annual information webinar especially for GBA players and parents. Details of this cooperation in other areas is currently under discussion.
